Medical Students lack access to patients

Here's a favourite cartoon of mine, by artist Chris Wildt. A bit overstated obviously, but sadly has more than a modicum of truth. Lack of clinical exposure obviously

will lead to lack of confidence and experience, and poorly developed bedside and clinical reasoning skills

But more importantly, how can we mitigate against this deficiency in many medical schools?
